The 7 Tesla magnet (7T680 Head Only Varian/Magnex Magnet) has an inner bore diameter of 680 mm and is a shielded super conducting magnet. The magnet is located in a RF shielded room supplied by ETS-Lindgren.

The Varian console is engineered with innovative DirectDrive™ technology, and is an extremely advanced magnetic resonance scanner. The system has 16 parallel controllers with full control of amplitude, frequency and shape, one for each RF transmitter driving 16 independent RF amlifiers (CPC 7T8000) and receiver channels. The system is coupled with the VnmrJ™ software, and flexible, easy to use pulse programming power to make the Varian MRI System the optimal instrument for state-of-the-art MRI experiments and methods development.

The gradient system is a Siemens AC84 7T Head gradient engine. The resistive shims are specially tuned for 7T needs. The Quantum gradient power supply is water cooled with ultra fast solid-state technology and very low switching losses.
