Blaine Chronik, Ph.D.

Dr. Blaine Chronik is the Canada Research Chair in Medical Physics and head of the UWO MR Systems Development Lab. He completed a bacheors degree in Physics at the University of Lethbridge, and graduate studies at the University of Western Ontario. He was also a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University where he researched the design, fabrication, and development of a new kind of Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner for clinical human studies.

His research interests include the mathematical transform algorithm for detection and correction of phase artefact in MRI, non-image-encoding local gradient coils, and MRI System Development. Current projects include work in the areas of field-cycled MRI (fcMRI), specialized gradient coil inserts, peripheral nerve stimulation in the MR environment, and eddy current modeling.
