John Adams is an M.Sc student working with Dr. Robert Bartha on a number of projects utilizing the 7T MRI system at Robarts. He is currently working on an ongoing MR study of the hippocampal region of the brain in patients with epilepsy, with the aim of better characterizing the disease using MRI to improve diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, John is working on adapting a CEST imaging technique to measure pH levels of brain tissue in human patients.
Prior to his work at Robarts, John worked at the MRI Research Centre at the University of New Brunswick, developing a novel technique for measuring the spatially resolved porosity of rock core samples and other porous media.
